Move it to Lose it - Week 2

Move it to lose it - 12 Week Challenge

Starting weight: 75.2kg
Previous weight: 75kg
Current weight: 74.9kg

Okay I have to admit that I have been naughty this week - bad, bad, bad Alicia! I didn't do to bad with most of my goals - I ate reasonable portion sizes, I drank lots of water and I exercised. BUT - I ate naughty food again (nibbles, pie, custard, ice-cream, and more I am sure), and I think it is definitely hampering my weight loss.

On a positive note though my step mum gave me a Wii and Wii Fit for my Christmas present so now I have a fun way to exercise that can easily fit in with kids and my general lack of free time.
So time to list my goals for this week...
  • Eat reasonable portion sizes at every meal
  • Eat healthy foods - except for dessert once (which I already had just then - when sampling the brownies)
  • Drink at least 2L of water every day
  • Exercise at least four times
  • Use the Wii Fit at least three times
One thing I am finding is that while I have my sister staying with me I seem to find it a lot harder to stick to eating healthy.

Any tips for eating well when you have house guests?

I have the Wii fit too! It is fun isn't it?! I like that I can do it no matter what the weather is, so no excuses!
As for eating well with house guests, I am still yet to master that one, as I love to be a good host and spoil them.
I guess if you let them know what your goals are, perhaps they can help you be accountable.

I think writing/typing your goals is deffinately a good start.
I was so tempted to buy a wii right after christmas, only $200! Maybe for my birthday. I would love to have the wii fit. I would like to loose weight in 2011 too or should I say be more active and healthy, it just seems every time I do it ends up going back on again :(
Goodluck anyhow :)

Not so sure about house guests but I've lost 7kgs so far through healthier eating & exercise. The absolute best thing I found was keeping a food diary for a few weeks & counting calories & fat. Seeing just how much fat was in 2 squares of chocolate & how it would affect my days tally made it much easier to resist. I also quickly figured out if I ate a lot of salad I could then afford to have something naughty.
Good luck :)

Thanks for the tips guys!

I will definitely be letting people know that I am trying to lose weight in the hope that they will help me rather than hinder me. And I think I will start a food diary starting tomorrow!

I agree with the food diary idea. It helps to write down everything you have eaten so you know if you are eating too much. Sometimes you can snack without even realising but if you write it all down you notice all the little things. I am about to post my first week on my wii fit stuff soon.

i've joined weight watchers online. i just need that motivation of having to be accountable for everything i put in my mouth. the good thing is that i can have a chocolate, or a drink if i want - so it works for me. i lost 2.1 kilos in my first week.
i can't give you any other (possibly more helpful) tips though - i find it so hard to stay away from yummy things....
goodluck - any loss is a good thing :)
