Move it to Lose it - Week 4

Move it to lose it - 12 Week Challenge

Starting weight: 75.2kg
Previous weight: 74.5kg
Current weight: 74.2kg

Hopefully this is the last week of tiny weight losses - my dad won't be staying with me as of tomorrow night and my sister leaves on Thursday. Then this weight loss challenge will get serious - because seriously 4 weeks to lose 1 kilogram is just sad!

So the goals for next week (well once everyone leaves)...
  • Eat reasonable portion sizes at every meal
  • Eat healthy meals - except for one dessert in the week
  • Drink at least 2L of water every day
  • Use the Wii Fit 4 times
  • Keep a food journal so that I can see where I am going wrong
I think I have also decided on some weight loss goals and rewards for meeting those goals...

70 kg - Watercolour paint brushes and paper
65kg - iPod and dock
60kg - A complete new outfit

Now just to actually reach those goals!

Well done on the loss, dont be down on the amount, its just a start. I can imagine its hard to exercise when you have guests staying with you.
I kept a food diary last year and stuck to the reccomended calorie intake, maybe you could try that? The only thing was that when I stopped counting I put it back on again. Probably the best way is to just eat more healthy and find excercise that you enjoy :)
    Goodluck!

Slow weight loss is good weight loss (maybe 250g a week is a little bit too slow), but at least you are not going up.

I like the reward list, that should help.

Ditto Rose's comment of writing food down. I did WW just before I became pregnant with Ryan, and the weeks that worked were the weeks I wrote it all down. You really don't eat extra cupcakes when you have to write it down.

Great job on another loss with your dad and sister staying with you - I don't know how you do it - I never manage!

And if you're using the Wii, I'm betting its telling you that slow weight loss is the best way to start! You have to remember that your body is converting the underlying fat into muscle while you exercise, and given muscle weighs more than fat for the same physical volume, that can sometimes mean weight gain at the start. Also means that it will take some time for the weight loss to really take off. You're doing it the right way which is lifestyle change rather than 'diet'. Keep up the great work - you're inspiring me to get off my butt and do something about the 10kg I want to shift!

Congrats on the weight loss. I know tiny weight losses feel frustrating (all too well) but you should feel proud of yourself for losing weight with family visiting. Cheering you on over here to a year of weight loss and good health too.

I've always heard slow weight loss is good, just because if you lose it slower it is more likely to stay off. :)

Congrats on what you've lost so far, Alicia and I know you'll get more and more results as you get more into these activities.
