I am on a mission to find the perfect chocolate cupcake / cake. This was attempt number one and it was pretty darn good - but I think I can do better! The cake had a great flavour, but was a little dry (but again that could be my silly oven). The chocolate swiss meringue buttercream was yummy! Everyone loved it.
Anyone have any favourite chocolate cake recipes that are really flavoursome and also moist?
I have had success with the Martha Stewart's one bowl chocolate cake recipe, and my recent devils food cupcake was pretty moist and tasty. I am looking forward to seeing which one you find to be the best! :)
ReplyDeleteThere was something that I didn't like about Martha's one bowl recipe - but I can't put my finger on it.
ReplyDeleteIs your devils food cake on your blog? I'm going to look now :)
I really like Martha Stewart's Mocha Spice recipe. It's not a basic chocolate cake, in any way, but the coffee, spice, and chocolate combination is soooo tasty.
ReplyDeleteUmm which recipe was this?
ReplyDeleteMy faves are Martha's one-bowl and Hershey's "perfectly chocolate" cake (baked as cupcakes). All the recipes I've tried that call for adding hot water are always really moist and light! :D
I would like 3 of these now please :) Chocolate is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteit is very tough to beat (pardon the expression) chocolate on chocolate. i wish you were here -- there is a super cupcake store called sprinkles and i think you'd like it. and your recipes might give them a run for their money!!!
ReplyDeleteO man, I just can't look at your blog - I'm just drooling over all the cupcakes you're showing! :)
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
This looks super tasty!
ReplyDeleteI am on the same quest! We should share notes.
ReplyDeleteI like the recipe from Ina Garten...

They are very chocolaty and I have made them with lots of different frostings and they are great.
