Bun in the Oven - Week 8

So sorry for my long absence! Morning sickness is currently hitting me hard which means no cooking, no baking - and therefore no blogging! I didn't feel sick at all when I was pregnant with Zoe so this is a huge shock to the system. Most of the day is spent lying on the couch praying that I won't be sick. I am just hoping that by the end of the first trimester all of this yuckiness will be behind me and I will be back to my baking self.

I am feeling...

Sick!
.
Tired!
.
Gross in general

I am thinking...

That the jelly bean must be okay if I feel this sick
.
That I can't wait to feel better again

  5. I wonder why it's called morning sickness if you're just sick all the time?

Feel better pretty lady :) Wishing you & your family well.

  6. Poor Alicia! I certainly hope it doesn't last the whole pregnancy, and hope you can find something to help relieve it!
I agree with Shannon, morning sickness is such a misleading name for it...should be called 'pregnancy sickness' or something like that instead.

  7. My first pregnancy was smooth sailing - 1 or 2 nausea waves but besides that, no problem. Second? I was sick as a dog through month 5. My first was a boy, my second a girl...I wonder if that little jelly bean of yours is a boy. ;)

Relax as much as you can. I drank lots of ginger ale and ate saltines (do you have those down under?). This soon will pass and it'll all be worth it in the end.

  11. This is what keeps me from wanting children soon in the future. I'm a wimp about feeling sick, and all the awkward bodily changes of pregnancy makes me wanna run the other way. Hopefully soon I'll get brave, because I know Husband and I will want kids within a couple of years. I'm keeping you and baby in my prayers. Rest up!

  12. I miss reading your blog and looking at all your pretty pictures. It's funny how blogfriends start feeling like real friends, isn't it? :) Anyway, I look forward to seeing you around again when you start feeling better!

  13. Hope you feel better soon, I had all day sickness too and it was the worst thing ever. I found that drinking warm water with a slice of lemon, and salty snacks like pretzels helped. And chewing gum!

Best not to have an empty stomach, because I felt worse when I was hungry. I even had biscuits next to my bed, so I could munch on something first thing in the morning.

    Hope it passes soon!

  16. oh no! i was sick for the duration of my pregnancy (although i'm sure this isn't helping you at all!) nothing worked for me...i was sick, hormonal, got rosacea and acne and gained 70 lbs. pregnancy did not look good on me.
but, yes, i also believe that means the little bean is doing great. that's what my man used to tell me over and over when i was miserable.
"you're cooking a baby...if you feel horrible it's because your body is working."
here's to hoping yours passes very very soon!
